The Monster of Muskrat Lake

Muskrat Lake is about 10 miles long and it’s deepest depth is well over two hundred feet. The lake monster is called by local residents – Mussy. The fishing eating creature is said to be about 25 feet long with a long fin down it’s back. Unlike many lake monsters, this creature is said to have legs.

At 8:30 P.M., June 7 , 1976, two people, Allen Childerhorse and John Hoard reported seeing a large creature in the lake. He wrote: “Trailing about thirty feet behind and cutting the surface a green fin of some sort. I felt a little weird…I don’t know what to make of it…”

Mr. and Mrs. Stark reported seeing two humps moving across the lake and then disappearing into the water.
